Default Opinions on 05 UL price

Been wanting a clean UL and thinking about picking this one up, black on black and from the pics and speaking to the seller its super clean. had my local dealership ran the vin and they said its very well taken care of. Doesn't specifically say the 60k was done but its been serviced regularly and jus did at 71k and showed no known issues. lady said she thinks it was done but dealerships words services differently but the 60k isn't to big of a deal. Anyways he wants 26.5k w/ wheels which i don't care for so with the stock chromes in great condition he'll take 24k. 3rd owner but always serviced through lexus. thanks for the input

2005 Lexus LS430 w/Ultra Luxury package. 74k miles currently. This car fully loaded. I have uploaded some images to help you better understand when I mean flawless... This car has all the options so no need to list.. I have also added several mods. Please see list below...

*R-Spec Data System Controller - ASE680
*20"Leon Hardiritt Belis (20X9 +46 Fronts & 20X10 +39 Rears) also comes with Chrome stock wheels.
*Vlene body kit w/rear spoiler
*5-Zigen Modellista Exhaust (Full Chrome Cat-back) Shipped from japan. Youtube clip:
*Carson Tuned LED turn signal mirror covers.
*Clear Bra (full front/Door Handle cups/rocker panels)
*Tinted Windows (20% rear, 35%sides) with Llumar tint.
*Grazio&Co Steering wheel
*Vaistech SL2Vi (iPod Interface w/Video to Nav Monitor) & nav screen protector.
*Vizualogic headrest monitors (Each headrest monitor has a DVD dock. One headrest acts as the master or primary, so if you want both headrests to show the same video, you have to use the master/primary headrest. On my set up, it is the driver side headrest which is the primary) also comes with stock headrests.
*Lexus LS460 Plush floor mats includes Lexus all-weather mats and trunk mat.
*Lexus ashtray delete (Japan rare option)
*Lexus installed Sirius Satellite Radio
*Lexus installed Black Chrome Emblems.
*Covercraft Weathershield HP car cover

Full synthetic oil w/air & cabin filters have been replaced. Lexus has clean tittle.

Hard to price a car with a lot of custom mods. Most of the time customization and mods decrease the resale price (even with expensive mods) of any used car because the mods are typically owner taste specific.

Bone stock in mint condition commands highest value in general resale market.

Either way wholesale value on a mint 2005 UL is likely well south of $18k at this point....in September 2015s come out, a 2005 car is 10 years old.

If you love these specific mods you may be the magic buyer the seller is dreaming about so you may want to pay him a premium - maybe 23k max?..be aware it may be hard to ever get your money back out.

I think that car had a lot of work done at AutoFashion in San Diego. I think the owner was on here too. Those mods probably cost him around $10k total. Mods don't add value to the car though. Sounds like it was well taken care of.

*R-Spec Data System Controller - ASE680
Be wary of this mod. It will ruin the stock airbags.

It's really overpriced, even though I'm sure the former owner put some money into it.

But if it's your dream car or you were planning to do every single one of these mods, than maybe it make sense to you?

To me, the car is priced about $8,000 to $9,000 over what it should be. You can find REALLY nice LS models of that vintage with low miles for $17k to $18k. Is an exhaust, body kit, and rims really worth that premium? I would think you could easily make similar mods for a lot less.

I would not pay more then $17K for that car. Sorry, but most of the mods are worthless to me and most likely to many other buyers... The cat-back is ok but I would not care for any of the other items/bling. Keep looking and be patient because you will find a nice car at a much lower price.

I could not see the pictures, so I had two thoughts:
1. The non-ashtray option was also available in the US, but it is/was quite rare, as you mention. If you can find the part matching your interior trim color, you can install it yourself.
2. Without a pic, it was not clear if it had the PCS option or not. That and the 18"chrome wheels would give it a complete set of factory options.

I would say $17k max. Mods don't add value to the car. Also, you never know what issues you will run into with those aftermarket parts. You can probably mod one the way you like it for alot less then what he is asking.
