Looking for another LS and came across this one:

I looked at the CARFAX and it states there were 5 owners. The car appears to be in great shape though. I checked it on Lexus service history and the water pump / timing belt were done around the 70,000 mile service. It was done at the same Lexus dealership that I purchased my last LS. What are your opinions on this one. I'm calling the dealership tomorrow to arrange to see and test drive it. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Car looks clean and well kept. The leather looks great for the age and the fact that it's had 5 owners. I like the ash interior however I dislike silver cars. If silver is your cup of tea than seems like a fair price. Did you purposely not want a UL or is it just the right price that you would purchase?

I know what you mean about silver. Prefer not to have a UL model. My previous LS was Blue Onyx with Tan interior. I'm also looking at this Black one with Tan interior:

I know you are already in PA... but wouldn't you prefer to buy a car that hasn't seen the northern winters yet? At least you can save that time frame before it could become another rust bucket. I avoid northern cars like the plague lol.

FYI I bought a '04 UL with 75k for only $18.2K otd... a base model for $20K+ not included any fees is expensive imho.

I also have a 1987 Mercedes with over 286,000 miles on her and I had her for close to 9 years with no rust issues. I do heavy coats of wax right before winter and then again right before summer. All of my cars get this special application to fight off the elements since I have no garage. It has worked for me all these years so I don't worry about that kind of stuff. I also do the under-carriage wash thoroughly thru winter months especially after riding on salted roads.

The 20K is not a firm deal as I've talked with the dealer. You know these people mark things up to allow haggle room. Lol!

Not sure! Is there a difference that should be a concern?

So if that was the case, was someone at the dealership driving the car for their use. Lol!

That's awesome that you do that... unfortunately some people don't love their car like us. If you bought a southern car you could make sure that the preventative maintenance could be done as soon as the car sees its first winter whereas you are buying a 04-06 which it could have spent 10~ winters without any care.

I bought a new LS and looked and found a Texas car. I had a 04 for 197k in Wisconsin prior. I do not think with the corrosion resistant designs of todays cars get the beating they used to besides the rims in rust belt states. I see very few rusty cars period in Wi any longer. Now if you are really concerned with underbody rust they will be rustier up here of course.

I shy for sure away from eastern New England cars with bad roads rush hour messes and pot holes like NY, Jersey and Boston.

What about potential flood damaged cars? They can come from anywhere

Now I found this one not too far from me. This is the exact same color scheme of my previous LS.
