I just found these forums today and was totally stoked. I absolutely LOVE Lexus, and you could probably say I'm obsessed. (My friends joke about having an intervention.) I bought a 2005 LS430 in December--a nice birthday gift to myself. She's silver with beige interior, Ultra-Luxury Package. She was my dream car for the longest time and now I finally have her.
Here are a couple pics, before the windows were done. Now the windows are limo tinted--the only way to do them.
That's a great looking ride you got there. Very clean. Nice tint job too. Would love to have the same here in Cali but not so sure the CHP wouldn't be all over it.
Welcome to the club.
Now a bit of a downer: I live in Utah as well. My GF had her windows tinted within the last year, and the co. that did it adheres very tightly to what's allowed by the state. And unless the angle or lighting is tricking the camera with your photos, there's no way in heck your front pass./driver-side windows are going to pass.
You might get lucky and not get pulled over. But if the cops in Utah DO pull you over, you'll get cited for too dark of a tint.
Now, if you have a buddy who can look the other way on annual inspections AND you don't get pulled over. Well, more power to you.
But I'll bet a Squatter's beer you're too dark. By about 20 to 30%, if the picture's accurate.

I know what you're talking about my windows read at 5%, I believe. I have had all my cars this way, and have been pulled over once by a "chip on his shoulder" older cop. It was a fix-it ticket. Removed the tint, had UHP check it, then had them retinted. (This was on one of my Civics). I've always had to go to "special" places to get passed for my inspections. And you are right--they are WAY too dark. (I'm just hoping there aren't any UHP officers who check forums, lol)

Reason: addtion
Oh, and whenever I see anything that remotely resembles a cop car--even the "undercover" ones, those windows are down. I don't care if it's 30 degrees outside, they going down. I've had a few friends in the car when that's happened (in the cold whether) and they freak, but I tell everyone when they get in the rules: Cops, windows go down, and don't even think about touching the damned windows.
