Default power window issue

2004 LS 430
120k miles
nearest dealer, approx 2hrs away (same for toyota)
search for "power window issues", did not return any pertinent posts.

front Passenger window issue:
will open fine. When closing, will rise only part-way and stop. No response to either switch (driver or passenger). No response to whether auto-up or manual up. After a few seconds or so, may rise a bit more. Longer wait equal longer response time, so is possible to get the window back up.

Sounds like heat/relay issue.

Q1- where is (are) power window relay(s)
Q2- Likely fault? opinions...

Thanks

Try to help it up by pushing it up with your hand whle operating the switch up. If if goes up all the way then there that means the motor has too much of a draw which is probably to a binding/sticking issue in the regulator and it is tripping the circuit breaker to prevent an overload. You could clean/lube the entire regulator mechanism so that it would not require as much effort on the part of the motor. Make sure there are no obstructions or kinks preventing the regulator from moving freely. Clean and lube the window channel moulding so the glass moves freely. Make sure the inside and outside dew wipes are not TOO TIGHT against the glass. If this is not the case then the motor would need to be replaced in my opinion as some of the winding has probably cracked internally. Happens all the time on other makes/models and happened to me on a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII and a 1986 Buick Park Avenue Coupe (both were 2 door cars with VERY heavy front door glass) Remember our cars have a very heavy piece of glass under much restraint from very tight fitting parts such as tight weatherstrips and channel mouldings with a relatively small motor to move them up and down. Regards, Stephen

The only solution to this problem will be to take off the door panel and test the motor with a circuit tester

Thanks for your opinion.
Where is such circuit breaker located, and where are the relay(s) located?

What test do you propose?

I had a GS 430 that once in a while my driver window would not go up. What I did was hold the power window switch down and keep it down for a few seconds then pull the switch up and my window would go back up. Try it and see if it does anything.

Just had an issue with my passenger front window not going up and would only go up slow. Lexus OEM part number for right hand (RH) side is 85710-50080. Bought a used one of ebay which was worse than the one I had. There is a sequence to reprogram the window to use the express up and down feature. I chose to buy a $40 motor from ebay or amazon (cannot recall) while the window works perfect going up and down, I have lost the express down and up feature.

the sequence to do the program is I want to say like the GS line. You hook up the motor loosely with the door apart to the connector. Press the auto down button on the door in question. Then manually bring it up 6 revolutions, and move the regulator more than half way when you connect the new motor. That should work.

OEM New power window motor at dealer was $660. I saw it on Amazon for $350. not sure if express down and up is worth it.
