Default Ext Door handle trim

On the right rear door........the cover that is beside the handle doesn't have the trim on it that matches the car. It must have come loose and fell off. Since the base is chrome in color, it really isn't noticable.

However, I have a new piece and I thought it would just be the silver shell but instead it is the entire base. It would appear to me that I'll need to remove the door panel inside to gain access to the screw that secures this piece. Can anyone confirm? Has anyone had to replace this piece?

Actually I'm looking for the same piece. Mine fell off a year ago. Seems to just be glued in place or atleast thats what I'm planning to do. Where did you get your replacement piece from?

Lexus dealer in town. However, the part wasn't just the piece that came off. it was also the part that it's glued to. I too had planned to glue it but now I'm afraid to try to pry it off the replacement in order to glue it onto the base on my car.

Has anyone had this issue and been able to solve it? It really isn't a big deal, but it would be nice if there were an easy fix.

the plastic body color piece is held on by plastic clips that are made into the replacement part.when i ordered mine from the dealer i only received the plastic piece.the piece i replaced was the small rear part of the door handle.

Do you recall the cost? My dealer quoted $45 a piece. For a piece of plastic the size of my thumb...
