Default Door trim piece

Question,

I have a trim piece on my door. I only see 1 other car on the forums with it. Was it an option, or only a few years, or am I just super cool?

Personally I like it my way. I guess most like what they have though.

Maybe you can post a photo? Not sure what trim piece you mean. Interior or exterior?

Outside. Right here running along the door. Not a pinstripe, but I don't know what the word for it is.

That's call Body Side Moldings, it's there to protect your car from door dings. I believe its a dealer option and not an OEM Lexus option from factory.

Have those on my wife's Volvo C70 (also a red convertible). I have the door edge guard on mine instead (the small u-channel plastic strip that runs from the belt line to the bottom of the door) to keep the edge from getting dinged up when I open the door. Until I got my LS600 I hadn't seen doors this large (the 600's are enormous) and was afraid I'd whack something in the garage or in parking lots.

...I'm not even sure if it was a dealership option.I do remember another member having & posting about this side molding a few years ago. I think there was an aftermarket company that produced & sold those for awhile. At the time, alot of the members had mixed opinions about them.
