Default CL package

I am looking at an 04 CL with 70 k for 16 ish. A complete service history, new brakes tires less than 10 k ago all the way around and if I can sell my 04 with 160 k on it for 10 k it will be a nice easy upgrade. It has semi aniline leather and radar cruise the only 2 items you may have had a choice on or that varied from Nappa leather or PCS? How does the semi aniline leather feel compared to my regular ol stiff leather in my Premium? What the heck does radar cruise even do? needs a headlight leveling sensor replaced only has one smartkey. Price sound good?Warm

Sounds like a great price to me.
I will have to let someone with first-hand experience address the leather comparison.
The (CL and UL) cars included DLCC (Dynamic Laser Cruise Control) which monitors the distance to the car in front of you to avoid rear-ending it.
With PCS (only available on CL and UL), DLCC is replaced by DRCC (D Radar CC) which allows it to do some fancy stuff with the seat belts, brakes, and whoknowswhatelse in preparation for a collision.
If you would like to see pictures of the sensors for DLCC and DRCC, go to the last page of the thread "How to tell if LS430 is equipped with UL package". I would post a link to it, but I haven't figured it out (yet).
Good luck on your new toy!

The black semi aniline feels awesome, as does the extra leather on the center console, lower dash, and doors. I was debating between ML and Premium and once I sat in a UL, the CL went right to the top of my list. Thought I didn't care about the other stuff like the power door closers and laminated side windows, I've come to appreciate them. I still don't give a rip about the headlamp cleaners, though.

Thanks for your guys input. I plan on driving 3 hours to take this one owner LS 40 miles to a Yota dealer tomorrow or Friday to check out the height sensor(part 400 bucks maybe) and an inspection. This Dealer is selling it for him it is in the middle of nowhere.

I spoke to the garage who did the by the manual service including brake, tranny and steering flushes at 65k and 5k oil changes since new and he felt the car had no problems.
The bumper sensors have no chips and he had the doors on the driver side touched up and cleared due to chips from his wife driving before the sale(I spoke to the body shop). New brake pads and tires, rotors in rear, 5 k ago but she has sat for 95 days with a few low ballers from CA calling and 2 local folks looking at the car so who knows what oxidation has done. Sounds like it is worth a drive , all the 35 pictures look good though not perfect pictures. Chrome wheels Copper tires.

Though its a salt state car, unlike my LS when I bought it, he's come down to 16,700 without me making and offer. Out the door with 500 repairs for 16k sounds possible cash in hand, sound like a good price for a CL with 70,500 k.

I know check mirrors, scoping wheel, radar cruise, the amp/woofer will crackle if its blown?
Thanks Warm

The normal leather in LS is plenty fine, but the semi-anl is just much better and richer. I'm good with all the extras in CL

if I do not buy it she goes to the Auction as this is F150 country. Flint Mica and black. Black is too hard to maintain and hot for me just me, but I guess the price seems pretty good and Flint is OK. Remember a while back somebody had privey to the mannheim auction prices. Do you remember who that was. It would be good to know. Tomorrow predeliv inspection in eau Claire 70 bucks.

That is the same color combo that I have. The black interior is not bad in the summer and flint mica is an awesome exterior color.

I found the ad in Osseo. Definitely a flint / black CL, despite what the ad reads. Check it out and make it yours.

IMHO, $16k is outstanding if all else checks out.

Here's a full thread started by Carguy on the Flint Mica color along w/ pros and (very little) cons other than the heat absorbtion factor and keeping it clean. Personally and subjectively, I think the Flint Mica / Black combo is by far the most stunning of all the color selections - YMMV ...

Thanks lets see what happens, I may get up there and it is a pile, the pictures are a bit blurry. I spoke to a car dealer buddy and he said a 04 with 72 left the Milwaukee mannheim auction for 16,400. They rate em 1,2,3 and this one was 3 clean. No notes on the PKG but I think the price is rite. Hopefully the height sensor is just a bad wire. I hope there is no buyers remorse going from a premium to the CL with repairs.....whine whine whine

True, but here in norther climates, it's not a big deal. I wouldn't own a dark car with a black interior most anywhere south of the Mason Dixon line.

Great price, I would jump on it if the car checks out (inspection, Carfax, etc.) UL and CL are my favorite packages, IMO the extra interior leather on them really makes the car and I would not have bought a lower package for that reason alone. UL is very nice in the south with the extra A/C and I personally love the ride and adjustability of the air suspension, and of course the rear seat doo-dads are cool, but others rightly point out it's "something more to break".

Never thought of these questions with my premium but,

door closers part cost and ease of labor?
Glass delams seldom.
Cruse works even if radar breaks, will my radar detector go on all the time?
Radar cruse goes on and off when cars interfere?
Are the doors tighter with closers? you know I drive 30 k a year and often above speed limit.
LCD dash unit failure seldom.
Voice BT phone is OK like many others 04?
How do the headlight washers even clean uniformly, I think not?
Alex is listening, he is like the guy behind the fence with Tim Allen?
How can you check for bad wheel bearings they seem costly?
It is not the fuss but getting 160 k free problem free miles again, but I know that is asking alot?
Seems rural America motors on mirrors used less.
There is one chipped sensor.
Thanks

I believe door latches the same on all cars, but the closers pull it closed if not latched.

Bluetooth is OK, but doesn't support full features of modern phones. There's a compatibility guide on Lexus.com or somewhere.

Headlamp washer are useless, IMO.
