You are pressing the odometer button until it in blank not trip a or trip b, just blank. turn the key to off position, then press and hold the odometer button and hold while turning the key to 'on position, not start. Keep holding button and then the message will go off.
Also, you're talking about message on the dash right, not the maintenance on the navigation? The navigation message is controlled through nav options and maintenance.

Yes under the mileage shown on speedometer we have the option to see Trip A / Trip B and i have kept it on blank and i keep the key position on "on" without starting engine and i push and press the reset button next to odo/trip button
My method to turn off the maintenance required light:
- Remember to call the dealer and schedule my loaner "test drive" of a new model for the day
- Chew the fat with the sales manager
- Enjoy their coffee
- Wonder who would buy something that fits and looks like a tarted-up Mazda3 called a Lexus CT for nearly $40K
- Get my scheduled maintenance done by someone who, unlike myself, isn't all thumbs under the hood.
Instead of pushing button at same time as turning ign on, push and hold button, then turn on ign (don't crank) while still holding button down for approx 5 - 10 seconds, light will go out. BTW ^^^ very funny Caddyowner!!!
