Default Rear vanity mirror

One of my vanity mirrors won't come down - it looks like the clip mechanism is broken. When I push the button, nothing happens. Anyone ever take this apart and repair it that can provide some instructions?

Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix? Are parts for this available anywhere?

I would just take it to the dealer and show them the part you need. Buy it and then install it yourself. Should take no more than 10 minutes to do by yourself

Does anyone have a picture of these rear vanity mirrors?

Never heard of them before.

Neither have I. Must be a UL thing.

Edit: did some searching and found this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-monitors.html

The picture 2/3 of the way down shows an LS460 with the rear vanity mirrors in the headliner.

Not a UL thing - mine is the ML pkg. That's the one behind the passenger seat (the one that works). The mirror/light behind my seat is the one where the clip is broken.

Well then it must be a model year thing because my car is the CL package (2002)

Yeah, I think they started these on the 04s. Has anyone replaced the bulbs for these? I'm going to make an attempt and removing the whole fixture to see if there's a way to fix quickly (and cheaply). Quote for a new complete light fixture is $230.

Yep - I can confirm that in that our '06 ML has them and our '02 CL doesn't.

Since this message started, I had the vanity mirror in my 04 UL fail to open. I used a 3x5 card and got it open. Then it wouldn't close and latch. The latching mechanism appears to be stuck and won't respond to the spring that is in it.

I just took my car in for maintenance and they are going to replace the mirror under my CPO, extended Lexus Platinum warranty.

And you guys please quit posting failures, as they seem to be contagious!
