Looks like maybe one of your airbag modules might be bad. I would try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes. If that doesn't fix it, take it to the dealer.

"Milan" gives the best advice as a DIY - disconnect the battery for atleast 10 - 15 minutes. This resets the computers and should probably help.

Reminder to self: Do not drive fast and zigzag

Get it looked at and repaired asap if the battery disconnect does not work. The light means your system sees a fault somewhere and parts (or all) of the system is not going to work if you have an accident.

Dealer trip. DO NOT work on Airbags yourself.

Boom.

It is the Airbag light. Your system will not work in the event of a collision when that light is on. A cert mechanic or dealer should be able to diagnose the problem. Sometimes, the light will correct itself tho, I've seen it happen.

So i went to a lexus specialist and he got his laptop connected to my car using the software ( Tech Stream ) and the airbag sign had two errors shown one was a sensor and the other said ( Airbag ECU MALFUNCTION ) and the guy told me he would charge me around $250 to solve this issue

I don't know when could be done to repair this, but if that $250 is last resort... It would be damn worth it when you get in an accident. Maybe that $250 will save a life, on the other hand though I hope there is an alternative to fixing the light.

So you were driving kinda fast and doing zig zags in an LS?? and then this airbag icon comes on? Take it as a divine warning. Really though kind of weird, but even after springs, shocks, swaybar bushings, and low profile summer tires the LS remains one of the cars I would least like to 'zig zag' with.

Saying that, this being our third car it gets driven the most miles by far 'cause its so comfy/cool.

Did you import the car or buy through a local Lexus dealership? If you have a dealer, have them access as this is a safety item they can cover with a factory warranty. If you imported the car, you may be left with having your Lexus specialist service the air bag system.

Not one of these "zig zags"?

The service manual states that the air bag system should be checked at certain intervals. I don't know what it is for the 430's. $250 is well worth the cost to insure proper air bag deployment on an impact.

Keep us posted on what it is.

For what it is worth:

My wife had the airbag lamp engaged in her Renault Clio.
I found that it was caused by a connector under the driver's seat not making properly contact.
Opening this connector and closing it again solved the problem.

Not sure how the cables / connectors are routed in our Lexusses though.
Worthy of a look, I would say.

Jac
