I have noticed of late that my trunk release inside the car does not fully disengage the locking mechanism. It works fine from the key. Is this something I can adjust...?
I think I have figured it out. There is a lockout that sits between the gas cap and trunk releases. I think this had engaged? I set/unset this lockout a few times and it seems okay now. I keep finding stuff on my Lexus even after several years of ownership......Thanx for the response

Your first post was a little misleading. It sounded as if you had partial release (not fully disengaging) when what I believe you meant to say was that it would not release at all. Yes, there is a lockout that needs to be released to allow interior trunk actuation. The key fob will continue to work regardless of which position the lockout may be in. The reason for the lockout is primarily for valet parking.
Well it was kinda odd, my fuel cap lid popped okay it was just my trunk release. It would sound as though it had operated but it did not release the lid. It was fine with the key fob. I read from a previous post about the key lockout and after setting/restting this a couple of times it seemed to correct my problem. I figured maybe I had partially actuated the lockout. Weird stuff, I will monitor this of course. Thanx again for your interest.
