Default SMart key gone dumb

The key presently will only remotely open and close the rear doors and trunk.
The front doors do not react to the remote and I'm forced to manually use the key to open the door.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Isn't it odd that both front door actuators would go bad simultaneously?

Thanks for the help!

It's not the battery if two doors open. You'd think battery if nothing happened when you hit the button.

Do the doors lock with the remote,or do you have to do that manually as well?

both front actuators going at the same time is possible, but unlikely. All four doors do the same amount of locking and unlocking,so it is possible that they would all fail at the same time,or close to each other.

I'd check those first, and then move on to the body control module. It's possible that part of it is burnt out and not sending the unlock signal to the front.

Only the rear doors respond to the remote and will lock and unlock.
The trunk will also unlock with the remote.
The front doors there is no response.
thanks for the help!

Just checking in, I'm having the same issue, the rears unlock and lock from the fob, but the fronts do nothing. Trunk also works fine. The car makes the chirp, the fob lights up, everything--just no action on the front doors. I've tried to hear for the clicking noises up front, but it's hard to distinguish between the front & rear. Is there a chance it's a programming issue?
