^^^
I would make a similar suggestion if I was in the US,get one from a wrecker/salvage yard.

It's not uncommon for scissor jacks to fail with a bit of use. They're really only designed for the odd emergency usage. If they've been mishandled or used a lot for working on the car or the like over the years, they'll start to fail. I killed several of them in my early 20's before I had proper tools.

I would recommend a 1or 2 ton jack. My jack that came with the car is not safe you ask me, I was jacking my car up one day and it started to lean like it was bending but I got it stable and changed my tire but never again with that little jack. After that I brought a real jack (1ton) from autozone here in md, could image the damage you can cause when these things fail. Good to have some jackstands too. Only con is a jack sitting in your trunk starring at you when you open it but hey I feel safe changing my tires now. Good luck.

If your LS430 is an early 2002, your jack could be of the design (part number 09111-50050) that was used only one year and superseded in Nov/2001 by part number 09111-50051. With your ClubLexus discount, you can get a new replacement jack (the redesigned one) from http://lexus.sewellparts.com for exactly $100 (retail is shown as $205.18).

Default jack part number and floor jack question

Thank you for the jack part number... sewell is right up the road, not a bad idea and my jack did go south quickly. The lexus part number shows it for the sc too... guessing they are the same.

What floor jack is everyone using? Does it have the slot like the factory scissor jack?

I'm using my AFF low profile jack. It has a rubber mount so it doesn't damage the subframe.. Rarely do I use the OEM jack.

I had one of them oem scissor jack fail on me before while i was changing a tire. I would never use those pos again. So I bought a Duralast aluminum racing jack from autozone and it been working like a charm in any road and surface condition.
