Default Oh What a Feeling

Took my 04 LS to the Toyota dealer and they did not have Valvoline synthetic in stock. Told me to bring it in and they would charge me to do the change and charge me for the filter. The oil change was 8 bucks and the filter like 4.50. Gotta love it! Warm

Congrats. However, there's a snarky voice inside of me that is saying the dealer now has 6 quarts of Valvoline synthetic in stock and you have dino oil in your oil pan.

You can always ask for the empty jug back if you're paranoid; at that point it's probably more trouble than it's worth for them to steal it.

My days of doing oil changes and having to get someone to take it are over.

They are a good group, did my t belt and pump and serp belt for 650. They have a 19.95 special on oil changes so probably just charge me what they charge for the labor on the budget change.

I always bring my own Mobile 1 synthetic to my local Infiniti dealer for oil changes and get back the empty containers.

Since I use Mobil 1 0w40, which has a high viscosity and golden color, I can tell by just looking at the dipstick. The 5w30 dino the dealer uses looks like water...thin and nearly clear.

If I'm having the dealer install new parts, like plugs or timing belt, I have them save the parts so I can inspect them, plus I know they installed the new parts!

I would seriously doubt a Lexus dealer would do that.
