Default crazy thought anyone use beaded seat covers?

well summer is approaching. so i was thinking any one use a beaded seat cover or any seat cover during the summertime? i like my leather seats but i hate the lower sweaty back t-shirt look. so i was thinking about a beaded seat cover because of the circulation you get from it. though i am worried about the beads rubbing the leather to much so it leaves marks on the leather. so has anyone used one? any other recommendations?

I tried one of those beaded seat covers once in a car with vinyl seats - and got this sudden urge to try to pick up riders at the airport. I also never thought it was very comfortable. I suspect this is going to turn into a discussion about the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of the cooled seats.

Seat beads are good if you stay in your seat for extended periods of time (i.e. 8+ hours). If you will be moving in and out of your car frequently, i wouldn't recommend them - as they will leave marks on the seat. After all, the LS has ventilated seats which are much better than non-ventilated seats, but also don't cool as much as you would like them to.

Unless you are like 90 years old, please don't put these in your car. They are ugly old grandma style, and they will imprint the design into your leather. These cars came with cooled seats for a reason. Learn how to use them and your problems will be solved.

The leather might be vulnerable to imprints and other damage from the beads being pushed into the surfaces and rubbed when you get in and out. Then when you tired of them, decided they didn't do what you wanted them to do or in winter you'd be left with markings.

Perhaps A/C and seat coolers on high with a light cotton or polyester golf shirt might work well on the hottest days.

In Texas we just go commando in the Summa-tom...

seriously I wonder of removing the seat filter would increase airflow - that under seat filter seems pretty useless for those of us that keep the car clean and vacuumed on a regular basis. I may try that.

Just say NO to base models. You prove my point.

Most people in the sunbelt use white towels over the driver's seat while the car is parked in the sun. Window tint may be more effective depending on how dark you want to/can go. But even the ventilated seats don't fix a sweaty back - they just minimize it.

Please don't do the beads. They remind me of my grandfathers old ford escort . Get tint or a cover for windshield when parked. Sheepskins are nice too.

well i like my base model alot. its because i dont need most of the options on the other models. i mean i never sit in the back seat so why do i need a massager and cooler. i prefer less things to break the better. but yeah i got the car i wanted. the price and the mileage was too hard to pass up at the time i bought the car.

o btw for those who suggest tints. i have them and they work great for the most part except for when the sun heats up the seats from the front windshield. that is not the reason for the beaded seats. its so i dont get a sweaty lower back. but like i said it was a thought. plus whats wrong with a little retro touch to it :P well see what i come up with. i just dont like coming to work with a moist shirt. thanks for your input guys.

Hey, wear a t-shirt when driving and sweat to the oldies, then switch over in the men's room to your dress/polo shirt when you get to work. Nothing says you have to wear one shirt a day.
