I am having a problem of the spare smartkey,my car is 2004 LS430 black UL with 2 smartkeys, one has been already set and the other hasn't,it cannot connect(lock,unlock,...) the car except starting the engine. Now I want to set up the smartkey,I tried but failed, does everyone help me??? Thanks. Sorry for my bad English.

Do you have one that the master key and another the valet perhaps? They look almost identical, but the master has trunk button, the valet does not. I believe what you're experiencing is the valet key does not operate the smartaccess, you need to use the physical key to enter, but then you can start the car up.

Looks like there is an exception. Both of them have trunk button,I brought it to garages but they all said sorry. Unfortunately,in Vietnam we haven't got any Lexus showroom yet. That's why I need help here.

The Smartkey has to be programmed at dealer, it's not a setup that any shop can do. Something with linking and programming. The one that does not work must have unlinked at some point. It's gonna coast about $90 to program.

Dealer has to program the smart key. They also need the vehicle to do it.

I doubt Vietnam has any "dealers" that can program it. Wow, you imported an LS to Vietnam? I'm Vietnamese myself and will probably go back there this summer for vacation. Rarely do I see a "nice" car in Vietnam.

You must be far from VN for years. Since 2006 up to now, more than 10 Rolls Royce and many Ferrari,Aston Martin,Bentley,... VN now is totally different from the past. You will have to be surprised.^^
Here are some links for proof,in VN,I'm sure:
Aston Martin DB9
http://www.vnexpress.net/GL/Oto-Xe-m...A40/page_2.asp
Hoang Trong import car-The most prestigious and luxurious car dealer in VN.
http://www.hoangtrong.com/html/Product.aspx?new=0
That's not all "nice" cars, actually there are hundreds of S-Class,...
The car price in VN is approximately 3 times higher than in America, that means a Rolls Royce will be at 1 million dollars or higher,it worths a Bugatti here in the U.S. I am not giving prominence to VN but that is true,I don't know why money is made easily there.

Forgive the ignorant question but are there Toyota dealerships in VN? If so maybe they could program your key or at least point you to someone that can do it. Good luck.

Toyota VN dealerships care only for Toyota cars in VN,they are a zero for Lexus, seems like they have nothing to do with Lexus,I brought my car there couple of times, then I said "forever goodbye" to them. It is likely that I need to visit some modern garages with a higher price.

Just check in the yellow pages for locksmiths that can do it. I had one come out and do a new master and program it at my house in about an hour for $325.

The $325 is including the key, or just for cutting and programming?

You can get a key from Sewill for under $200 shipped and cut, then another $90 at dealership to get it programmed. $325 seems kind of steep if from locksmith and does not include key.
