No..it didn't prevent Obama from being elected....but it really did save my ***!

Last night after paying for my groceries, I was walking to my car, chatting away like a teenager on a cellphone. My shorts didn't have any pockets, so the next convenient place to put my wallet and keys, change, etc, was in the one grocery bag I was carrying.

I walked up to the vehicle as I normally do, and enjoyed watching the LED puddle lamps light up but proceeded past the doors, to the trunk, and pressed the "magic" button. I placed the grocery bag in the handy-dandy net in the trunk, and closed it up and walked to the drivers door....

A second after the trunk closed, I heard a long BEEEEEEEP. I was like, what the heck?....

I stepped to the drivers door, but the puddle lamps didn't light up. I placed my hand in the door handle and the door did not unlock!!!!
Now I realize what that long BEEP was for!!! I JUST LOCKED MY KEYS IN THE TRUNK!!! Adding insult to injury, my WALLET (with the spare plastic key), was in the trunk as well!!!!!!

My heart was in my throat..as it was about 11pm and I had to wake up at 5am the next day (today!!!)

Thank GOD when I walked back to the trunk and pushed the "magic" trunk release button, it unlocked.

For once, the cars technology just didn't provide me a simple creature comfort & convenience...but rather---IT SAVED MY ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I glad it worked out for you. I had a similar experience putting my briefcase in my trunk with my fob in it. The long beep is eerie but your right, its a BUTT saver!

 

you're right about that. sometimes i stand there and wonder whats going on then i feel my pockets and realize what i've just done.

 

I know the feeling, both before and after... I definitely like the feeling "after" I realize I am able to open the trunk without the key on my presence.
