I was messing with installing my new antenna today, used the key (only one) to unscrew one of the carpet tabs and set it down on the trunk floor when i was done. Well, needless to say the wind picked up and smacked the trunk right down on my head. I backed up in pain and watched the trunk shut then realized what I did. Is there any way, other than a locksmith to get into the trunk. I've got the keycode if that helps.
open your drivers door and pop the trunk. use a long wedge of wood and a strudy coat hanger i can get sc doors open in 30 secs or less with those 2 tools
the trunk release works, i just didn't know if the trunk release disables when the door is opened. where do i put the wedge on the door to minmize damage?
This happened to me. Lucky for me I had my Valet key. The Valet ket will not unlock the trunk lock. So what I did was take that valet key to a locksmith and had them make me a master key out of it. They will know the the missing cut is. If you do not your valet key then I dont know what to tell you.
My 97 works with the door open. So you are locked out of the hole car, Not just the trunk? If so. Try to use your wege at the top corner. NOT on the roof side, Over by the B-piller. Good luck.
if you use a decently slim wooden wedge and wedge it about 6-7 inches from where the door begins you shouldnt damage it at all. i watched the pop a lock ppl use this method a couple of times thats where i picked it up from.
the trunk pop method doesn't work, trunk release isn't locked and i've hooked it many times and pulled up and still nothing. I hook the gas door and that opens though I've got a locksmith coming that says he can open the car though..
I can think positive.... I bet you will never let this happen to you again... You will need a locksmith to pop the lock, or contact the lexus dealer with your code and they can cut you a new key.
