I just bought one of these. Seems almost too good be true that it is so much cheaper than the Vais unit and apparently operates the same. Has anyone installed one of these ipadcarpros units? Hoping it is not a scam! Thanks.

Several folks bought these discounted TOYPD2 units a couple of months ago including me - price was about $79. Be aware that these are all discontinued older design units, they cannot be easily upgraded and support for them is likely to be poor or completely non existent in the future.
But for the price it was an good investment for me to get well integrated ipod capability in my 2006 LS430. Mine works very well and was fairly easy to install. In fact I unloaded and removed all the CDs from my car because I have an ipod loaded with approx 50-60 CD's worth of music connected in the glovebox. CDs in the car would be completely redundant.
I do have a premium non NAV, non ML LS430 - so your installation and integration situation of the device will be somewhat different than mine.
If mine breaks eventually, I'll just pull it and get something else. I'd actually like to pull the whole Lexus radio/CD headunit and amp and get something more modern and up-to-date installed at some point. Every time I look at that Lexus head unit with its stupid inbuilt cassette player it irritates me.

I installed the same unit in my 2004 430 ML. Works fine except it starts a song from the beginning each time I switch to another source or answer a phone call or turn the engine off. I use it with Touch 3G with the latest Apple software.
