Of course it can!
With this state of the art component
That's why lexus still gave us cassette player until 2006

(Kidding aside, No.)
You can get aftermarket plug-in accessories (vaistech, lockpick), then plug in your mp3 player.

Just wondering, has anyone used one of those tape/aux things? Does it put off a lot of static like the wireless fm transmitters? I am using an fm transmitter now and I am about to throw it out the window but don't want to spend a couple hundred on a vaistech just to play my mp3 player with some clarity.

i use a cassette adapter with my mp3 player.

it sounds very good IMO, it's kinda ghetto but sound quality is good.

try it you'll be surprised.

At first I tried the FM transmitter, the sound quality was terrible. Then I used the TAPE/AUX thing for a while, then one day the ML cassette player just keep ejecting the wired cassette. I thought it was a defective one, so I bought another one, did the same thing. The third and final one also was ejected after a few seconds of play. I think the cassette player itself is defective, but I never got it fixed, I don't have any cassette tape left anyway.

But the sound quality when using the cassette adapter with the ML is just as good as an iPOD.

I bought one of the cassette mp3 things and it works great. Sounds so much better than the fm transmitter.

i know Infiniti cars has in-dash cd changer looks like it would fit in the LS slot (just need to find a small changer that can replace the current changer which plays MP3). My cd changer in my mercedes e-class plays MP3, so that'll work also. Most newer cd changer small enough would work is my guess.

Not just great for MP3/Ipod players, but for anything with an audio output like a CD-man, portable DVD player, or 8-TRACK !!. Brings the LS430 back to the '70s when 8-track ruled !!!

I had the tape cassette and it did sound good but I upgraded it to the Vaistech SoundLinQ SLu . Big difference in quality and I love the OEM menu that is added to the touchscreen for you to switch the input channels. I upgraded due to the audio/video project that I'm working on .

It works and it's very clear in my Mark Levinson system. I just would rather it be on the screen.
