Default ML does not play mp3 files ???

Hello,

So i tried to burn some mp3 directly into a CD, but the ML cannot read it ? Should i burn the mp3 into audio files or simply leave it as mp3 files and the ML should read it ?

I try to search a little bit, but nothing concrete.

thanks. My VML that i've ordered is still in custom.

Just to confirm..you did burn the mp3 as a audio disc and not data correct?
The reason why I am asking is because I did that once. =P

I converted Itunes AAC files to MP3 files on my Itunes library, Itunes has an option to do that. Then I dragged and dropped the "newly converted" files onto a 4 gig USB memory stick. That works fine! But.........Lexus limits a folder to 254 songs. So if you can't partition your memory stick into different folders it will be limited to 254 total songs. The song name, artist and album all show up fine too.

I rechecked the files on the CD on my computer, all mp3 files and it plays wonderfully in the computer with media player. What is wrong then ?

I would load all your music into Itunes. Then convert or re-convert on that website into "their" MP3. Then burn the Itunes MP3 songs onto some new CD's or Memory stick. Should work. Lexus is obviously biased towards working with Apple Itunes and Ipod.

Hi Blueshark,
I've just ordered an MVL. So it'd be very helpful if you shared your whole experience with me starting from installing and going through all the processes. Pictures or video clips would be great. I have an ES 2009 with ML by the way. Here's my email friend: m.jurais@gmail.com

Thanks in advance for any hint; I'm just as excited as you for getting the MVL installed,

aljameh

Sure, i will help you with all the proper steps, with pictures of course, i had a member giving my great tips, i will share it with you. I wasn't jumping with joy when testing the VML kit, i only wanted to expand my mp3 storage. The only problem is files organization on the VML, you can only have folders from the root, no subfolders under the folder, so you have to have great music organization.

From a newbie stands of view, it took me 1-1.5 hours to fully understand how to remove all the radio trims and install the VML.

I will see you.

Thanks for your quick response and willingness to help. I really appreciate it Blueshark. However, I really think what you mentioned is big issue to me which is folder hierarchy. Don’t you think they’ve overcome this problem? If not, do think it’s going to be solved in the near future. (SAD FACE)

Regarding our main subject, I’m expecting to have the product (VML) arrived a week from now. So, would you please share with me the information we agreed upon.

Yours Sincerely,
M. Jurais

As i understood on the manual, not yet, but Vais do come with upgrades that may resolved that issue i hope. You can imagine with a 16gig usb key how much i have as folders, subfolders will make my life easier.

msn me if you can, i will gradly help you over the steps and supply you all the pictures and tutorial you need or simply email me at nguyen_pharm@hotmail.com
