Got in the car acted normal, got to the store went in stayed about 15 min and came out and car would not start. Tried the key and still would not start. The key turns on and everything works but it won't go on over to start. Waited about 5 mins and it started up like nothing was wrong. What is going on?
PS: The car is UL 430 with electronic key.
Thanks Joe
My guess would be a loose battery connection. I had that problem before on my GS300 and after cleaning and tightening the battery bolt, everything worked fine after that. 2nd guess would be battery cells are going dead.
I'm sorry I didn't explain myself better. The key **** on the dash would not go over far enough to engage the starter. I tried pushing in and it still would not go into the start mode. See first post for the rest.
PS: Do you have to push in from the beginning to go to the start position? Or can you have the key in the acc. mode and than push in for it to start. Thanks Joe

Was the LS 430 parked on an incline? There is a safety feature which prevents the key **** from turning to start mode, if the car is parked at an incline and the steering wheel turned to one side. This is to prevent the car from sliding out of position when starting; I experienced this once on an LS 430 when parked at a gas station (very slight angle, but still) and Lexus Roadside Assistance advised that the car not able to start (key **** would prevent ignition) was intentional; just straighten the wheel and the car could start normally IIRC. Nothing wrong with the car in that instance.
