HEY fellas got another problem im sure someone here can figure it out,
yesterday i had subwoofers installed and today morning when i drove off my driver side mirror was folded in,
now they automatically fold in once i shut off the car but they return to there normal position when i start it.
its only the driver side mirror the passenger returns back, but when i play with the button that moves them back, the driver side mirror does move back to its original position, but it deosn't when i turn on the car and it gets annoying lol
I Had the same problem, minus the subwoofer installation (I think someone ****ed with my mirror). Any how I played with it for a while, like pressing the open button several times and it kept creeping open with each push. Eventually I opened and closed it manually with my hand from the outside and all of a sudden it started working a few hours later. I dought it’s the woofer; someone probably hit your mirror at night. It might have went off track a bit, just play with it manually 2 or 3 times, and if you have the same luck as me it will work again. Hope this helps you, not much more i can say.
I actually had a similar thing happen to me recently but I do not let the mirrors automatically fold in when I turn off the car. Twice, once on each side, when I started my car, one mirror rotated backwards and then the other time one mirror rotated inward. The other mirror stayed in the original position. I had to flip the mirror switch back and forth a few times and they finally went back to the regular position. I don't know why it happened and has only happened those two times.
It happened to also about a year ago on a 2001 LS430. I managed to mess up badly the driver side mirror that it needed a replacement. I do not recall the whole chain of events, but as strange as it sounds, my conclusion at the time was that the real culprit was actually my battery going bad...
I had a similar problem with mine and tried sprying the mechanism with WD40. This worked for a while but then the problem returned. The problem was apparently a battery getting weak - replaced the battery and the problem has gone away, never to return (until this battery gets weak).
yup that waz it
i replaced the battery and all is well
might be the subs drained the battery or what was left of it
so i put the new battery and all is well, im still going to get a capacitor just in case
so this is why,
When my car was returned from the shop, my driver side mirror stopped working for the first day, but it works now. I was wondering maybe someone at the shop messed up my mirror.
Now I think it's because since it parked at the shop for 2 weeks, maybe the battery got weak, and after driving a bit, the problem dissapeared since the battery was recharged.
Shlomboy, what subs do you have running? I want to install aftermarket woofers in my LS. im getting bad vibes from people (non LS owners). They say it will make my whole in side rattle and my trunk will shake, ultimatlly making my car seem more hood then class. What do you have to say about the woofers. I always had them in my old cars and want some more base in my car.
Also did you remove your factory woofer so that it does not pop from all the extra air from the new woofers?
