Default Driver Side Mirror memory and auto dip problem

Hi Guys,
I recently bought a 2005 Lexus RX 330, and I am trying to figure out a problem I have with drivers side mirror.
The mirror adjusts fine left/right up/down.
However both memory and the auto dip feature dont work. When I press the memory button 1 my seat and passenger mirror returns to my programmed position, but not the drivers side mirror.
Also when move the mirror switch to the left(or right) to enable auto dip feature, only the passenger mirror dips down and goes back up. The driver mirror dips down, but never goes back up so I have to manually hold the up button to return it back to original position.
I was thinking to replace the driver mirror module but wanted to see if anyone had similar issue before ordering part.

This is just my guess....But if it is dipping down then the mirror ecu is fine. My guess would be that the actuator is bad and the mirror ecu isn't getting the signals it need from the actuator so that it knows where to move the mirror too. There have been a few times when people report the reverse tilt down feature not working well and the actuator is the cause of the problem. Here is a link to a new actuator...If you are comfortable taking off a door panel, then the mirror isn't much harder to replace. http://www.mylparts.com/parts/2006/L...&siteid=214992

Actually, my mirror cover and glass was cracked when I bought the car so I bought a used mirror assembly. I tried 2 actuators: 1 from my old mirror and another from used one I bought online and with both of them I have same problem.

I am new to the club but have had Lexus 330 for a while.

I am currently having the same mirror problem: Here is what I know at present; A mechanic traced the problem back to the actuators. I have ordered two and will be installing them as soon as they get in.

Danny, the mechanic showed me how to remove the mirror from its frame while on the car. Actually that is very easy and there are a couple of YouTube videos that show how to remove the glass. Once the the glass is removed, the actuator has 3 small phillips head screws to remove and the actuator can then be removed and easily replaced with the new one.

I found the actuator on ebay for 49.00 each.

Before removing the glass from the frame, please see a YouTube video.

I'll let you know how my install turns out as soon as I get the actuators.

I had an RX 330. I learned that there are different options of mirrors available when I had to replace a motor assembly. Some reverse tilt while others don't have that feature. The same with heat and dimming. Is it possible that the replacement mirror doesn't have the features that the car requires?

I am sure it is possible to order an incorrect part. However, if you use your VIN # as a guide and look up your part #, you should get the correct part.
