nav surrounding panel
the panel surrounding the nav screen (including the moving vents) parts of it is showing wear and it flakes off dealer won't replace saying it's a wear and tear and claims it's a $500 part...
where can I find it for cheaper?
jesus it's a rip... if it wasn't for that vent it would be a $20 part lol
oh and how would you take the panels off without causing a damage? seems like there is absolutely no gap for any tool to get in between

Hi, I had exactly this same problem a few months ago, but I bit the bullet and ordered one from Sewell or Lexus of Brookfield (the parts guy is a member here) for around $300.
To replace it, firstly read the posts about installing the Ultimate Lockpick in this forum (and note my additions). Basically, you need to start by taking out the "seat heater" panel (just snaps out), then by unscrewing the screws holding the CD player cover in place and unsnapping that. It's been a few months, but you then basically unbolt a few bolts and the "cd/radio" part comes out. Then, you need to remove the temperature switches (use a hook tool) and undo the bolts, the nav screen will basically pull right out. Once you've got the nav out, undo the screws that hold the plastic panel to the electronics (there's four), and then attach the new one. Finally, do everything in reverse. Read up on this in this forum (and not just my abbreviated instructions) before you start.
Although this was a huge pain, it was easier than I thought it would be, but take your time and use lots of towels to protect various parts from scratches and the possibility of a slipped screwdriver I am so glad I did this, the plastic around the nav screen was the only part in my interior that was showing wear.
Do a forum search for "Ultimate Lockpick" and you'll find it...
Good luck!
