Default Help with Heated Seat Problem

Hello, I have 4 heated seats in my LS 430. All work fine except for the lumbar section of the driver's seat. The seats are still in warranty. I took it to the dealer, they gave me some story about the differences in thickness in materials? A week later I called the service manager, he had someone measure the power into the seats, everything checked out. But the drivers seat still sucks. I set the dial to max and you can barley feel the heat in the lumbar section.
At this point I would be willing to pay to replace the heating element but don't know what it would cost? Is there some spec that heated seats are tested to, like with an IR probe? And wouldn't the seat have to be loaded when the temps are checked?
I have sat in several heated seats in other cars, mine is the worst, but the dealer won't use this as proof that my seat is faulty.

Jason.

lexus heat and cooling seats are a joke... take it for what it is... don't compare other heated seats with the Lexus (especailly cooling seats)

Default Heated Seats

I had my 2006 LS430 at the dealer this week complaining about the poor heated/cooling seats and was told that the seats in the LS were different from other Lexus' as they only utilize a fan. I have ridden wit a friend that has the GS430 and his seats are much better then mine.

that sound about right... your friend gs was probably the 06, with the newer head/cooling seats... the newer gs/is/and LS460 has made some improvements... you 06 LS is the old design of heating/cooling seats

As far as cooling goes, its not great, but improved after replacing the filter. The heat functions works great though, both in my LS, and GS.

However, I am not aware of the parts needed to replace the heat element.

Might want to ask the guys at www.lexus-parts.com
