Switch lights are OUT!!!
Hi I have an '01 Ultra with 57k and some of the lights under buttons starting to die. Like the shifter (all done), Driver side temp control are out, and some Ultra option buttons like headlight washer are out. What do I do? is it a major work by dealer or my shop guy can do it? Maybe the car is getting old and I need to sell it Please help, Thanks
Relax.
The one by the shifter is just one bulb. And easily replaced. Now the ones in the buttons, try tapping the button, that usually turns them back on in most instances, the same with the driver side temp controls.
If not, might have to buy some new bulb from the dealer, or cross match the sizes, and buy from a different source. I personally dont have the bulb sizes, might find more info in the lighting forum.

The panel that houses the headlamp washer button pulls out very easily. Put the shifter in low gear. Open the storage compartment to get a "grip" on the upper part of the panel and give a firm tug. The entire panel pulls out. You will see a socket that hoses the bulb. A small philips screwdriver will be needed to twist bulb a 1/4 turn to get out. I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Dealer charge me about $5.00 for the bulb. There is a green plastic covering over the bulb. If they give you a clear bulb, make sure you transfer over the plastic covering or it will light up "white" instead of the soft greenish yellow hue. Very easy, it should take you less than 5 miutes.
Good luck!!!
