Shifter Light?

Shifter Light?
I just bought a 1999 Gs 300 and i was wondering if there is a bulb where the shifter is were you see the P,R,N,D when you change gears is that suppose to light up? it looks to dark at night let me know thank you.

There should be a wedge bulb which lights up the shifter at night, but it's possible that the bulb may have a loose connection. This has been happening somewhat lately in my '01 ES, and what I usually do is lightly knocking the shifter plate with my knuckles until the lights turn back on at night. Try that out on your GS and see what happens
