Just got this two weeks ago. 2006 ML with 147,000 miles. Fixed the center console, refoamed the ML subwoofer, cleaned out the ventilated seat filter (wow that made a difference), added interior LEDs, GROM BlueTooth unit, front shocks, plugs, transmission service, and induction service. Up next: LED fogs, fix the telescoping steering wheel column, rear shocks, timing belt/water pump, paint work.
Here is my 2004 LS that I puchased in June for $6500. I’ve spent a lot of time working on the exterior. When I got it, it was bad to the point I wasn’t sure I even wanted it. I think it looks a lot better now.
Hood, roof, and trunk lid were severely sun damaged. Nothing hours of hand sanding and polishing couldn’t take care of. Repaired and repainted plastic body panels. Seats in excellent condition for a 14 year old car. Pioneer w4400nex, installed a couple of weeks ago. Compartment under the new stereo. Wheels aren’t damaged, but they do have a lot of paint chips for some reason. Seller must have cleaned the engine compartment.
wow, look clean! i'm in market for a 2004-2006 LS, debating if i should get one with or without Navi.
Well I originally wanted one with a backup camera, but I couldn’t locate one with the right condition and price. The stereo shop hooked up a backup camera to the stereo that works well enough for my purposes. I can get nav using Apple Carplay through Waze or Google Maps. I’ve never seen the built-in nav system.
Looks very good and great price. Are you using the factory speakers and sub?
Using stock speakers and amp. Stereo guy said the built in amp was a bit better than the one built in to the head unit. Sound isn’t fantastic, a bit tinny, but I think all my original speakers are still working. I thought sub only came with Mark Levinson.
Thanks, it looks good from 5 feet but it’s not like a new car. Still quite a few defects that you can’t seen the pictures.
Super clean, I did the exact same thing when I got mine. Spend 7-8 hours cutting and polishing the paint. Mine looks like new from 5 feet away, up close she’s got her scars but I’m OK with that. Also worked on the audio, needed decent sound.
One question, did you repair/repaint the side panels or did you pay? Curious what that would cost or entail to do.

I painted the side panels myself with spray cans. It may be more difficult with colors other than black. At any rate it is a lot of work to get a satisfactory result, especially if you don’t really know what you are doing, like me. There is a youtube channel called ‘the gunman’ who recently did a series on how to spot repair your car. He is quite knowledgeable.
Good first step would probably be to learn how to polish paint with orbital polisher. Then progress to painting. I also had to sand a lot due to getting deep scratches in the plastic as well as a fairly rough surface due to it being spray cans.
WOW what the hell is THAT? SLS Control ? and what the heck are those screens on the sun visors???? I have never seen these before on any car
the controller is used to control the factory air ride system, it can slam the car and yea man i have never seen anything like the visors either haha should be cool, i can watch movies while the sun is in my eyes hahaha
