dvd upgrades..

hello all ,( 01 ls430 ultra) im reading your info and wondering if im able to play dvd's or upgrade to playing dvd's ...there was a disc left in the car when i purchased it (north america dvd navigation map) but i assumed it was for nav's w/dvd and just map info.

didn't know just thought i'd ask...thanks.

DVD - Navigation Upgrade

I am interested in upgrading my 2005 RX330 and 2005 LS430 navigation disks. I called the dealer today and the cost is $375 for each car. Can anyone provide me information on where to purchase and make the updates myself? I will also need some advice on where the DVD readers are installed for the Navigation system. I can't find them in either vehicle. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

For the RX330, its in the tool kit area (where the jack is at, center of trunk), for the LS430, its in the trunk, right rear, lift up the cover and you will see it. Those asking about Navigation disks...If you find Sewell (Lexus parts, etc.) you will be able to purchase the newest navigation disk (7.1) for about 260.00 and install yourself..very easy. You will not need to know generation because when you put in the type of car you have and year you will be directed to the correct version thus there is no chance of error as there is if you decide to purchase from another source (like Ebay). There are discounts coupons that you will past in (a number) to reduce the $299.00 price to $260.00. This is very painless and they are very responsive.
