mine is a 2005, with less than 12,000 miles.

not much problem except the battery goes flat when i dont use the car for more than a week. but a quick jumpstart, and she's fine.

Curious -do you turn off the car's smart key when you leave the car for a week?

maybe that is the reason why the battery craps out on me everytime i leave it alone for about 1 week or more.

any ideas on how to disable smart access?

there is a button next to the tire pressure reset on the underside of the dash near the steering wheel. the ownner's manual says to turn off the smart key there if you will not be driving for a couple of weeks as the car is always trying to "sense" the smart key and this can run down the battery. Hope this helps.

2006 LS430 bought in oct of 2006 with 9998 miles.Currently has 11050,with the only problem,it won't start when I let sit and do not drive it for 4 or 5 days.Just got a trickle charger and hope that will cure it.Have several other cars and save the Lexus for the summer.Besides that,it is worthless in the winter w/o snow tires.

Default outside mirror

'05 LS430
28k miles

Outside mirror had to be replaced at 25k as the mirror motor worked intermittantly.

Since being replaced the by the dealer the mirror occasionally (in the cold) does not fold out. The vehicle is under warranty for another 15 months. If it gets worse I'll have them replace it again.

My service advisor who I've known for 10 years said that in her opinion the LS430s have the fewest problems of any Lexus made to date.

2002 UL with 93,000, owned since new. Replaced mirror for folding issue, recently replace fuel rail dampers for fuel smell.(the screw was sticking out of the top of the dampners). No problems, awesome car.

I've put 3k on her myself
No major problem yet!

I wonder if anyone else on here has more miles on an 04+? I'm planning on driving this one to 200k+
One year later and I'm approaching 99k. I've replaced the battery and gotten about 4-5 oil changes and tire rotations. She purrs like a kitten, and I love her.

Default 117k

I can not believe that I have the most miles out there at 117k on my 01 LS430. Come on your road warriors out there. Get the post up Mine is black with chrome wheels. It is my 5th Lexus, 3rd LS. My favorite purchase ever. I love being able to run 90 mph and still getting an avg mpg of 27. All I have done to mine is tint the windows, put new Michelins on her, replace the radiator (have had to do this on every toyota product, have had 7, when they get between 110-120k) install the ipod adapter, change the oil, and drive

Onless there has been a mjor change, I expect that the steering rack will need to be replaced within the next 20k (another common part that needs to be replaced by 135k, judging by my previous Lexus/Toyotas)

2001 LS430

135,xxx miles

Only 'major' problem I had was replacing bearings on the front axle. I am about to change out the front chocks and struts, but nothing major. Other than those the car is pristine. I love it!

I bought my 05/LS430 on March 1 a year ago with 30K miles. It now has 41K miles & the only problem I've had was a sensor on the front bumper was replaced under warranty. The P.O. had a problem with the rear window shade that was repaired under warranty. I now am wondering if to buy a extended warranty. My daughter just bought her 05/LS430 & purchased a extended warranty to 100K miles & 10 years for $2,500. I think it is no deductable.
