I've received a few email requests over the past few days to see my "2005 stock" 2001 LS430, here is a pic. The upgrades include the 18 inch rims and the clear tail lights.
I was thinking about cutting the tips (the upper part) for about an inch or two and weld the tips on. I have the clear tail lights but didn't put them on because to me, it doesn't look right without the exhaust tips modified.
Same reason for lowering the car. I need to lower it first before putting the 19" on (which I've also already had). Hope I can get all these done in a month
Thanks for the info. I wonder how the cars would be like if we make them look like those 2003+ AMG S/CL/SL class?
I've tried this morning to look at the original tail light covers and new new "clear-strip" ones, they didn't look the same. The old ones have the plugs for each of the bulbs while the new ones only have one (and then connect to the rest via wires and a piece of green material that appears to look like the parts inside the computers). Did you guys have to modify anything for the new ones to fit? It doesn't look like it'll be a plug-and-play thing.
Please advice. Thanks.
