Default Tail Pipes for '03 LS 430

For whatever reason, Lexas did not incclude chrome tail pipes like my '90 had. Does anyone have any suggestions where to buy them - brand name? I live in a small town and the muffle shops don't have too much to choose from. Thanks. Phil

Yes Pepboys actually has perfect oval exhaust tips. I just put some on my 01 Ls430. They look exactly like to 2004 tips but for only $12 each. Triple chrome plated and look very classy. The clamps are on the inside of the tips and arent the ones you screw into the side of stock pipes which looks cheap.

I'll try to get the part # for you. They are 4 1/2 long and say they will fit 2" tail pipes. To make them fit you have to remove the clamp for the inside of the chrome tips. Wrap the clamp around the stock tips and tighten them down then slide the chrome tips over the clamp and tighten the 2 screws under the tips. They look perfect, I'll try to post pics soon.

JLAWS - Thank you my friend. I would like to have the part number, because our little Pep Boys in Grants Pas, OR will probably have to order it. Pictures would be a great plus. Thank you for your trouble. Phil

Gentleman the Pepboys part # is 62-1106, or the Pepboys SKU # is 9036491. The tips are made by 3A racing. Trust me they fit. They don't stick out past the rear bumper. They actually go in about an inch. Remember you have to take out the clamp from the inside of the tips then unscrew the ends of the clamp to widen them. Put the clamps at the very end of the stock tips. Tighten them down as much as you can then slide the tips over the clamp and tighten them down underneath. It take a little muscle since it's a tight fit but do everything in your power to make them fit cause I was able to.

Hey Digital B, I have the exact same rims as you but in chrome. They are brand new in the box. I'll let them go for a $1000 obo if you want to upgrade. I got a good deal on some new 2004-2005 polished LS430 18's and went with those instead. I have black and chrome stick on Lexus center caps for them which i'll throw in. I live in Mass also, near Dedham

JLAWS - Thank You very much. I really appreciate your efforts. I will get them and make my Lex look fully dressed for the ball. Sure glad we have this link to exchange ideas and helpful information. You are the man!!!

Can you show us a installed pic? I think that will seal the deal for me. Thanks for the "numbers".

Cheers.

JLAWS - I found out there is not a Pep Boys in Oregon. Can you believe that? I found exactly what you recommened. The 62-1106 is the STYLE number, not part #, for your info. Anyway they were $7.80 each. Does that sound about right? Thanks again for your help. Phil

FYI, I'm a part time store manager for Pepboys. The Style # is the part #. You must be looking online? That is the price, it's much cheaper online.

Totally agree? Why would you want to add tips to the exhaust pipe when they are point down at a 45 degree angle. Is this the look you're going for? I'd think this would resemble a 1979 Monte Carlo or Grand Prix...

Thats funny!! trust me they look like stock 2004-2005 tips set up. The 2001 thru 2003 tail pipe is actually straight but bend down slightly at the end. They do not bend straight down so the tips don't block the exhaust gasses. i wish I could take pics
