Treo 650 Bluetooth Compatibility
Has anyone tried to link the new Treo 650 with the LS430 Bluetooth system? I have a Sony Ericson that works fine, but I'm thinking of getting the Treo.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

The GSM version of the 650 is now on Cingular's web site. I believe they just started shipping
today. My wife has the Treo 600 which does not have bluetooth. She wants to
upgrade to the 650 with bluetooth to use in her new RX if this phone will work with the Lexus.
I'm sure it will be on the lexus.letstalk web site if it will work with the Lexus.
By the way my Nokia 6230 works great in the RX.

I stand corrected. A user of the Treo 650 in the RX330 thread got a car patch kit from Palmone.com and is enjoying all of the Treo 650 features. He even figured a way to do voice command. Good news indeed!
I paired the Treo 650 GSM (Unlocked) with my LS430 (2004) BT.
Pairing works - ir required making a phone call from the Treo to complete pairing as the BT in car was waiting. Switching the call between Car BT and Treo worked fine - switching back does not work (works great with Sony Phones).
Things that do not work:
1) Signal strenght does not displays on the car
2) Incoming call does not ring in Car
3) Sending full phonebook to the car
Compared to other phones:
Call in Car unit is faster with Treo than with with a Motorola Razr
But it works

I concur. Treo 650 pairs with hands free in 04 LS 430, but what a battle to make it work smoothly. (You need to make that first call when Treo is finished pairing and Lexus is waiting.)
Then:
1. No connection when entering car until I "wake up" the phone my pressing the send button.
2. No "ringing" in car for in coming calls
3. 3 to 5 second initial delay in hearing person calling you, and same delay in hearing person you call.
4. Key pad and one touch disabled as soon as you move car. (It's hands free because you can't dial while driving. Frustrating!) I can use the phone to dial, but connection time is slow, and this is more dangerous than the Lexus keypad would be.

Surprising to hear these problems. I got my cingular T650 to work with 04 LS430 pretty easily. Just go through the normal procedure to pair the two, and it connects right up. It re-connects everytime i get into the car. I was impressed how easily the 2 works with each other.
Friend of mine got his verizon T650 connected with 06 IS, and it also connected right up.
