Default Rear Driverside Hit

My LS got t-bone this past Friday
The other driver ran a stop sign and I have a witness that saw the other driver run the stop and got a police report saying that I was not at fault.
I already filed a claim against his insurance.
Do you guys think it'll be totaled? I don't want that lol

His damage:

I was able to drive my car home with no felt issues.

Oh, Latin! So sorry, man, but seems overall pretty uneventful so that is good. I've never been an adjuster but I don't see a total here? Some repair and paint on the panel and bumper, and maybe the wheel can be refinished?
Are your back wheels normally out of camber (most are) or did he hit your suspension? Sounded like you didn't feel any harm in driving.

Yeah doesn't seem too bad to me. His insurance just called and she said that there's a coverage issue. The minivan is not in their policy. What should I do? I only have liability.
He definitely hit some suspension parts since my wheels are not that out of camber.

Try contacting your insurance company and see if they can help. Also contact the police department that filed the report and let them know that the other vehicle wasn't insured or didn't provide the proper policy information. You can get some estimates in the meantime.

Probably close to totaled as Ins co will not value this what you could probably sell it for.

Definitely agreed with others. Contact your insurance with the other driver's info and the van's plate (and or VIN if you have it) and see if they can help you figure out the proper policy (if it's covered). Also worth checking with the police.

It's been a little while since I've had to deal with a body shop, but I'm going to take a very rough guess that it's going to be about a $4k-$8k repair to touch up the quarter panel and bumpers with a little filler, then repaint and blend into the adjacent panels. The transfer on the rim may buff out, but I'm not sure.

I believe the car is worth repairing as the damage is fairly cosmetic, and it's a nice LS 430. Sorry this happened to you

Thanks! Yes, I'm gonna save it as I only have 96k miles and I've owned it since October of 2017.
I contacted his insurance and on Wed I got a call from the progressive agent said that that vehicle had no coverage so I'm basically sol. The other driver wants my phone number. Not sure if getting a lawyer is worth it.
I was looking for bend arms and didn't see much. Maybe you guys can see anything I don't see.

Here's how some of the damage paint transferred got buffed out

Lookin in my trunk the cover piece doesn't fit anymore:

My wife's RX350 were hit last years and 3 cars were involved. We are the only one has insurance, and one driver from the other vehicle didn't even had a driver license. The local police did not issue any tickets (for whatever reason) and just told us to contact our insurance. Luckily, we have full coverage on her car. Ended up fixing the bumper.
For my LS430, I don't have full coverage so if anything happen, I am on my own. It's to the point I feel like owning a "newer" car becomes a risk.
Based on the pictures, the easier/cheapest way seems to be just focus on the bumper. You may able to clean up the scratch. Good luck.

As far as your suspension parts go, I don't see anything out of order

Why does the other driver want your phone number? I assume he's in touch with you via email or another form at the moment? Is he willing to cover some of the full repair cost? Not sure if this is worth lawyer fees and a small claims case either.

Your quarter panel has a very slight bend and crease in it. A PDR technician may be able to make it look better at low cost, and a skilled body guy could touch up the remaining damaged paint

He never called or texted so no clue why he asked for my info. I'm taking the car to body shop to get an estimate pretty soon and a PDR guy.

I took the car to local alignment shop the rear upper control arm and toe arm? need replacing.

How much of a pain is to replace the arms in our cars? I'm probably going to get BeckArney or Moog parts. The OEM arms come out to like 1k which I can't afford at this time.

It sounds like you are going to need out of pocket for whatever it might cost to repair it. Whether to do that or not is a tough question. Good luck whatever you might choose.

Even if the driver didn't have insurance they are still liable for the damages. Has the other driver indicated they won't pay for your damages? Have you contacted the police department that wrote the report to let them know of the issues with the driver not having or providing proper insurance coverage? Have you gotten any repair estimates?

I did contact them PD. Haven't heard anything from PD or the guy that hit me.
So far only from the suspension. The suspension was about ~$500 for non-oem suspension parts and labor.
Hoping to go to a bodyshop to get an estimate.
