Default 2003 LS430 rear trunk cargo net.

Trying to find out what hardware is needed to attach the rear cargo net. Car came without a net and it seems the upper plastic anchors were never installed. Drivers side has a broken retainer and passenger side is just the plastic rivet. I believe the lower anchors are metal rings and the upper may differ between PFL and later models? Do the upper anchors screw in to a speed nut or are they a press fit?

I didn't think it would be much of an issue to get a cargo net but so far I'm not really sure what to look for with the upper anchors.

My wife uses the cargo net in her ES330 all the time and now that I got her a LS430 she wants the cargo net. The one in the ES works well with grocery bags and that's her main use for the cargo net. The one in my Pontiac G8 is pretty shallow and doesn't work too well either but the taller ES one works pretty well and would think the LS one would too. Just trying to find out the upper mount design and if it differs for the PFL models.

Don't really remember but I think there were different configurations. For the upper anchors look up the part and see if there is a picture to see if screws in but I am thinking it probably just pops in. Ok just remembered I had to pop out some to run a wire to trunk at top so it does not screw in.

All the diagrams I've found are pretty crude drawings so it's hard to tell. What year is your LS?

Mine was set up when I got the car 6 years and I took it down so it is tough to recall but I think it was double-wrapped on the clips or something like that.

Default Trunk cargo net hook

This is the hook from my LS430 2004. Gets chewed up by the sharp edges of the mounting hole which has slots to take the two lugs then turn into position.

Thanks for pics... not sure where I'm going to find them! I may go to the pick a part yard here and see what they may have as they show both a 2002 and a 2004 LS430.

My 2004 has the factory cargo net.
So far as I can tell it was intended to be mounted in the middle of the trunk and is of limited use.
Mine mostly lives with the spare wheel but occasionally comes out if I have lots of small loose items to store in the trunk.
Mounting it across the trunk entry like I had in my S-Class Merc it just gets in the way.
Mounting it further back makes it difficult to reach.
