Trying to purchase 2 ML Speakers from a Japanese parts source (Amayama Trading Co) but they are telling me that they cannot ship them to me here in the USA because they are prohibited by Customs because of the magnets in the speakers? I've never heard of this rule before, anyone else?

 

just go with aftermarket, speakers are speakers ( as long as the impedance is the same)

 

could order from amazon but expensive..saw front door for $200

 

Tried that but he does not have them, but for some reason is still advertising

 

have you thought about just repairing yours as kits are available

 

I found 2 used on eBay that I grabbed, shipping today. Once I pull the old ones (2) front doors, (2) rear doors, and the sub I will probably repair and sell them. I've already bought a new sub and 2 new rear doors from Lexus

Removal and replacement happened today. It's a whole different car with the VLine Grom unit and speakers that function. The Dash speakers were fine, both front doors were toast, the rear doors were fine, and the sub was toast. I ended up replacing the front and the sub. He cutout the rear deck around the sub 3/4 of the way and just flipped it back down and held it with Gorilla tape. With the sub speaker cover you'll never see the cutout anyway

Will buy the speaker repair kit and fix the fronts and sub. More than likely will return the new rears I bought from Lexus.
