Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a solution to lock my LS430 doors using the remote (not the metal key) while the engine is still running. I often need to leave the car momentarily and want to keep it secure without turning off the engine. Any advice or methods to enable this feature would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off the engine, lock the car when unattended, and open and restart upon your return.

These days it makes no sense to keep your car running …….

 

Duck's suggestion is probably the most logical in today's time.

That said, I think that's been a Toyota design to not allow the doors to be locked with the remotes with the engine running. Unless you want to install an aftermarket alarm with an additional remote, using the key is the simplest solution.
