Default P01354 wont clear please help

I recently bought a ls430 and it had 1 code p01354
which to my knowledge is passenger side vvt solonoid
i replaced both solonoids and noticed the wire was broke for passenger side and replaced that to code didn’t go away I took it out and tested it with 12v and it makes the click noise so I know it’s working so I did an oil change and filter to no avail next I shot some TB cleaner down the hole where the vvt goes and re installed and still nothing i can not figure this out please help

Have you cleared the code with your code reader?
You may also need to disconnect the battery for 15-20 mins, then reconnect.
That resets everything including the ECU so it then relearns everything.

I worry that the VVT-i actuator is not working well.

the vvt I actuator is the cam gear right ? I’m still having this problem and can not find any sort of solution is there a way to diagnose this I was getting ready to replace the cam gear cause I read somewhere else it could be bad but I’m going to try and pop the valve cover tmr and check the filter and see what it looks like in there.

what brand VVT did you purchase?

HERE is a link to the factory repair manual. It has detailed steps used to diagnose and repair. Well worth the small investment

You'll have to go way deeper than removing the valve cover. The VVT filters are under the cam bearing caps.

It's extremely surprising how little information there is on this issue I ended up replacing the timing belt setting everything right and replacing the ocv filter and the vvt cam gear on the passenger side NO CHANGE I'm almost certain I'm the only person in the world with this issue I have gotten a Toyota tech stream scanner swell and did Vvt active test both work replace the engine colant temp sensor and the ecu have 2 new cam sensor I'm putting in this weekend and I've replace the oil again and filter. What do I do next

Download the factory service manual / section on how to diagnose and troubleshoot that specific code. It is very black and white. If A happens THEN do B. If B fails then do C. By the end of the flow chart you will have resolved your problem. Watch livescan data, techstream or other scan tool. Measure resistance, ohms, voltages, etc.

Otherwise it's just guesswork as you've found out.

Did you replace the entire timing tube assembly or just the sprocket?
