Anyone know how lexus heated steering wheels work?
I want to retrofit heated steering wheel equipment from a LX570 or LS460 onto my LS430. Do the elements under the leather have built resitors so if I just run wiring to an oem steering wheel switch will it work or is there something in between the steering wheel and the button?
You might try one of those places that does the custom steering wheel modifications, like the ones that can add wood and such to anything. I'll bet one of them would be more than capable of adding that to an LS430 wheel, making it look factory, and might even be able to redo the wooden sections to be heated as well.
My dad bought an 09 Mustang with a chewed up steering wheel, and had one of those places redo it with alcantera with carbon fiber inserts, and it looks amazing.
Although I think your biggest challenge would be how to figure out how to wire it.

I see some custom carbon, leather wheels for newer Lexus. But never really looked into it much as it doesn't match the colours and materials of the LS. I do want to fix the wheel as mine has cracks in the wood.
