Default 3IS heated steering wheel

Has anyone successfully added a heated steering wheel to a 3IS that did not come with it?

If so, besides finding a heated steering and the button to turn it on/off is there anything else required?

Thanks!

Need to change controller in the steering wheel, and I had to add wire from clock spring to switch panel

A lot of the carbon fiber steering wheels come with the heated coils so that shouldn't be a big deal. As mentioned above, probably need to run wiring from the steering wheel and add a switch

Which controller?
What year is your car?

I was hoping it would have been prewired (like the models that don't come with a backup camera, have the wires there from the factory).

There is a wee controller in the steering wheel itself, that the heater elements connect to. Wiring is in the clock spring, its was a single wire I had to add from clock spring connector (steering column) to the switch connector (same connector that does seat heater switches)
I got a used steering wheel with controller etc in it.
Mine is a 2017 350 F Sport

Perfect thanks!

If you happen to have more info on which pin this wire goes to, that would be great!
The steering wheel that you got is a 2017 as well?

Wheel I got was from an 18 RC. It was actually 2 wires between steering column and switch. See attached PDF. The relay and all other wiring was already there.

Thank you!

Does your car have lane assist?
Weird how the car would have the steering heater relay, but not the wiring for it.

I asked about the lane assist because that vibrates the steering wheel. The lack of 2 wires is a bit weird... but good to know!

Thanks again!

This links in the PDF don't work.
Did you take photos of what had to be done?

Thanks again!

Update:
My car is a 2017 IS 200T with lane assist
Here's the 2018 IS350 F Sport heated steering wheel with lane assist

Theirs a controller in the wheel (allows it to vibrate (for lane assist) and controls the heating):
- 864A1-48011 (2nd pic is an IS500, 3rd pic is the 2018 IS350)

I haven't removed my 2017 steering wheel yet, but that module should be there since I have the lane assist which vibrates the steering wheel.

Here's an RC that does not have heated steering wheel and it's missing that module since it does not have lane assist, so this may be the wiring that Droth is referring to:
