Default So long farewell adieu

I am making the change. My LS is showing it's age electronics wise and it needs a T belt. Good old Elon Musk has made it too hard to say no. The tax credit helps this year, I'm officially retired on Dec. 31st my income will be SS and investments from here on out. I would be nuts to not go electric my power cost is 7.25 cents per Kwh, lowest in the nation. I shall be installing the outlet for the car in the garage this afternoon. I went with Tesla of course, performance model 3. I also drove the Y and prefer the 3, the Y is too tall to get my disabled wife in and out of. The 3 handles better. Am not buying the full self driving. I did my homework prior and did test the full self driving. I went 6 miles or so in heavy city traffic allowing the car to fully self drive. I was STUNNED at how darn good it was, even slowing and braking perfectly for speed bumps. I'll continue to hang out over at 4runner forum, but no Lexus means no more club Lexus. I do thank those folks here that have helped me out, hope I helped some along the way too. I will miss my LS.

LS430 is the best Lexus ever made (except the LFA) and probably the best they will ever make. Sorry to see you retire the car but I've also moved to a Tesla it's the easiest car to own I've had by far.

I have Tesla in the family but I still hang on to my Lexus s. Tesla ride, quality of materials, fit in finish is still no where close to Lexus. Only thing good is zero gas and you can have pretty much full functions on without burning any gas.

Sorry to see you and your vehicle “go”. I have family members with a Tesla and they parrot your comments. I almost traded in my LS for an RX350 last summer but couldn’t do it. Instead, invested more in the LS (timing belt and various other maintenance items) and expect to get another 2-3 years out of it.

Been following Toyota/Lexus to see how much they commit to EV; the side street of hydrogen is interesting but can’t see how they address the refueling challenges. Will see in the next 2-3 years before I finally give up my LS (the SC is not going anywhere&#128513.

Good luck with your Tesla; hope it all works out for you.

I'll never sell my LS430 ever, this is going to be passed down to my daughters
