Just got back from a road trip today in the van, and I had to get in the LS and drive 30 miles to a business appointment immediately afterwards, which is unusual for me to do both in the same day. When you drive the LS all the time you almost forget what a beautifully riding car it is, but that contrast with our Sedona Minivan really highlighted that for me today. Wow...the LS really does have an incredible ride. So smooth and refined, and quiet.

I'm taking it on a 340 mile each way trip in two weeks by myself, really looking forward to it.

Just thought I would share.

You don't realize how comfortable a car is until you drive one thats terrible. While far from your LS, I didn't realize how comfortable my ten year old GS was until I drove a brand new Nissan Rogue rental for three days. My back is killing me.

I find the best way to really appreciate this car is to drive soemthing else for a day.

​​​​​​​On the flip side I've almost gotten myself killed driving something else as I'm expecting the car to be able to stop like the LS...and it can't. Scary adjustment.

Those are some of the reasons why I got the LS. Its so smooth, quiet, comfortable and just a fine automobile to drive. I feel privileged to own one.

I was just thinking the same thing. Last night a couple friends invited me to go to the roller derby of all places. Its in a rough part of town so I took my ML350. I don't really give a crap about that car. Its nice but the whole ride I was thinking why did I bring this when I could have been really enjoying the ride. Today I was back in luxury (The state of great comfort). I am truly a car guy. Trucks and suv's are for utility in my book.

Over this past weekend, I took my LS600hL on a road trip to Chicago and back (480 miles each way). My wife and I attended a wedding on Saturday evening, and we drove to Chicago on Saturday morning and drove back to Omaha on Sunday morning.

After around 1,000 miles and 15 or so hours driving over a 24-hour period, I agree wholeheartedly that the LS is one sweet road car! We watched (or should I say my wife watched, and I listened to) 4 movies each way (I have the device that allows movies to be played on the front Nav screen), and the miles just seemed to fly by very quickly and serenely. We arrived at the wedding refreshed and ready to party...

I only got around 25 mpg on the trip (cruising at about 80 mph the entire way), which is about what I normally see in my 600. I know the LS460s do a bit better on the road for some reason (maybe the 5.0 L engine sucks more gas when cruising).

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the car! 81K miles and climbing...

I recently drove a MB S500 rental car. I had forgotten how quiet and smooth a luxury car could be. I owned a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. I now own a 2014 LS 460 and it is every bit the match for the MB S500 i rented. I previously had an 07 LS 460 and traded it for the new Jeep. Really wished I hadn't done that. Not that there is anything wrong with the Jeep but obviously the ride is not the same. Love the LS

My 08 ls still drives nicer than my wifes prius and my dads gx470 with bad control arm bushings. You appreciate what a nice car it is after being away from it for awhile.

Amen. While the IS200t was a pretty fun car to drive around, getting back into my 460 was simply in another stratosphere. As well it should considering the delta in price.
Some of it was the little things. The way it feels when closing the doors.

Nice post Steve. Wholeheartedly agree. I marvel at the comfort and ride every time I drive it. It's my sanctuary to and from work on my 70 mile commute. Sheer joy.

Amen. I rent cars often but typically just for short trips while in a given city. I had kind of an odd trip arranged that required me to get a one-way rental car and put quite a few miles on it. I made the mistake of choosing the Hertz "Manager's Special" - sometimes you get really lucky with those and end up with a pretty sick car for a fraction of the price (sometimes they need to move a certain class of vehicle from one location to another). Well, that wasn't the case on this one..! I ended up with a Mazda 3 rental that I drove 689 miles on a 1-way trip through various parts of FL, GA, AL and MS. After spending 689 miles and 5 full days with that car, you have no idea how happy I was to get back in my LS last night... I absolutely love the smoothness and utter tranquility associated with driving the LS at any speed. It's really remarkable.

My wife and I are on a 3000k mile road trip. These cars eat interstate travel for lunch.
Soo comfortable and fast. If anybody had a chance to open these cars up will understand
the land jet reference. Please be safe and know the performance rating of your tires.

Sold! I'm getting one! I've been look for the right one for 3 months. My criteria is tough though. I want an "L" with no air suspension 19 inch wheels with less than 100K miles. My budget is $18K. I may need to travel out of state to get one. It would be a fun ride back home.
