Default Steering Wheel Does not Tilt Upwards

Hey yall,
My steering wheel tilt no longer works. No matter how many times I press the button, it is still stuck in the lowest position. This is quite uncomfortable for me, so I was wondering what fixes there are to remedy this issue. I saw online that a new motor is about $200-$300. However, are there any other ways to manually wind the steering wheel up?

Both motors are not working on my car. I did manually adjust the steering wheel up down position. You need to remove the steering column cover, loosen the bolt to rotate the motor. Pretty straightforward.

The tilt motor on mine has become weak and after recent front wheel hub replacements the vertically challenged mechanic lowered it all the way so he could test drive it. When I went to get in (6'4" of me) I couldn't adjust it back up. The telescope still worked fine though.
I managed to drive it home and then found a video online that showed removing the steering column covers. Once inside tried lubing the shaft but that made little difference. However, I could get some pliers on the end of the tilt shaft and rotate it whilst pushing up on the tilt button. Once it was in the position I wanted I refitted the covers and have left it like that as I never need to adjust it. Some day I will replace the motor but it's not urgent.
