Not only do you have to reset, but once that is done you need to hold the reset button down until you see the initialization message. That cured my problem in my 2006.

The tpms systems that don’t have sensors get tricky. On my Honda the light was coming in because 1 break caliper was sticking and causing that wheel to drag.
