My driver side mirror attempts to rotate but just constantly "clicks" like stripped gears when I start the car. Then it stops. It will not unfurl or retract.

Any suggestions on how to change without having to remove the door panel?

 

You have to remove the door panel. Sorry!

 

In the meantime, you should switch off the auto-retract and get the mirror where you need by using the adjuster whilst pushing/assisting the mirror.

 

I would clean the connectors and wires behind the mirror button before anything else. I know there’s threads on here saying how to do it
