Default Tilt Steering disable

early models have switches
later ones need to be coded at dealer
95-97 however....how do we disable the auto tilt feature when key is used? mines barely working when i use the adjustment switch it just clicks a lot, so i then get screwed over when it goes all the way up and cannot adjust it back to normal, as for now, i want to get it in position and just disable it until i decide how much effort i want to put into caring about it later on. I swear i saw something about a specific wire at the ignition, but i cannot find that post anywhere. I see a green and red wire from the adjustment switch to a motor, but that doesnt stop it. every time i search all i tend to see is coding, and on off on older models.
i also cannot figure out which fuse operates it im not seeing it labeled as such anywhere on either fuse box, or is there a third on the interior that im not seeing any information on

no need to make things complicated. just take the column cover off, find the connector for the tilt motor, get the steering wheel where you want it, and then disconnect the tilt motor. this is what i did when mine started to intermittently operate. havent had any issues and its been this way for a while. i still have the telescoping motor connected and it still functions as it should.

now im having issues with not being able to get it to move at all by the switch. at times the metal screw just spins and the blue gear does nothing....but then the metal screw doesnt always spin, and when it does, its only for a second or 2 and it is strong, then gets weak and then nothing. so now i have no clue what to do with this column to even get it to the point of where i want it.

sounds like the gear is just spinning as its no longer properly meshing with the drive gear in the motor. have you tried the zip tie spacer trick? take the plastic gear out of the motor, slip a zip tie over the shaft then re-install the gear. this will allow the gear make contact with the drive gear, allowing the metal screw/shaft to move. this is all depending on if you can hear the motor operate but the column doesnt move.

i have not tried any of the "fixes"yet, because the metal screw isnt spinning much or at all to even move the plastic gear

I am thinking i need a new motor, i cant seem to find anything on the motor itself, everything that comes up are the fixes for the blue gear, which needs to be done as well but i need the actual motor
