Recently I’ve had trouble starting my car with a no crank no start type deal, earlier I noticed a delay in the starter after turning the key I thought it was battery related until I found out my battery life is fine. So I tried putting the car and neutral and starting it, then everything shut off; lights, dash, etc. so I gave it a second then my car randomly started. What could the issue be?

do they easy stuff and check that the battery terminals are tight.

it does sound like a bad starter (from no or delayed cranking) but that wouldn't explain things shutting off. a loose terminal would cause intermittent connections.
