Default Lost 2000 toyota celsior ucf21 key

Hey guys, I have lost the key for my toyota celsior. I lost the key with the remote on it but still have the spare key. I saw this video and it seems fairly simple to buy a self programmable key, get it cut in the pattern of my spare key and program it using the instructions in this video
will this work on my car? has anyone tried this before?

I've had to do it a few times to replace both a master and valet key.

It's a 2-step process. 1) Pairing the transponder in the new key to the car and 2) programming the remote buttons.

See attachments for reference.

Programing is fairly easy. There may be an operational frequency difference between the JDM and USDM/North America keys and remotes. The remotes have an FCC ID and a Canadian code on them. If the JDM operates on a different frequency then you may have to source a JDM key instead. Yamae would have more insight on this.

Regarding the frequency, both Celsiors and USDM LS400s use the same frequency range of 315MHz. But the EIRP is different.
The detail can be found at Maxim's home pages. Those are available both in Japanese and in English.

So in that case what should I do? where should I buy the key that is needed? can you point me in the right direction? I don't want to buy a key and then not be able to use it

I know the frequency but that's all I can provide you. Sorry that I never had any chance to use an American FCC commander for a Celsior and I have no idea to answer your question. The frequency range is the same but the FCC rules out things there and the difference of the regulation differs the design, I can say at least.

The alternate is to do what the Aussies do, buy the least expensive to test be that a remote or key then go for it. Buying a JDM key should not pose to much difficulty either.
