Default 1995 LS rack and pinion tutorial question

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-tutorial.html

I need to chnage my rack and pinion.I went underneath the car to see how I would tackle.Instead of doing it his way, I am thinking
remove the bolts from the cross members and jack up the engine like I am about to change the engine mounts.Remove both sides of the tire rod ends etc
Would that not be possible?of course rempove the knuckle and pressure lines.I am thinkling jacking up the engine should give adequate space to slide it out. What do you think?

I don't know where the idea about lifting the engine came from and your not the first person to mention it. I removed my rack last weekend without doing anything but remove the steering columm bolt and the 2 17s holding the rack on the crossmember, but to be fair i have a lift available which always helps.

Goodluck

Thank you.I saw another youtube member do that. What year is your car?Did your solenoid connector match the new one you installed or where you able to swap from your bad one?
